Stephen Hendry says he is determined to add more major titles to his collection after recently returning to top spot in the world rankings. His first chance to do that will be at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix at the end of October, a tournament you can watch live on Eurosport.
The 37-year-old is back at number one after a nine-year gap, despite his last ranking title coming 19 months ago in the Malta Cup in February 2005.
And Hendry says he wants to capitalise on his consistency to start adding more silverware to his collection.
“It's a fantastic achievement to be back on top and it's a great feeling to be introduced into arenas as world No 1,” the seven-times world champion said on the World Snooker website.
“But I haven't won a tournament for a long time and I'd swap the No 1 position for a couple more trophies. My main target this season is to get back to winning tournaments.”
“I'm delighted that the event is moving up to Scotland as it's been a couple of years since we had a ranking tournament here,” he added.
“I've played in Aberdeen a few times and snooker is very well supported there, the venue is always full and the fans are enthusiastic.”(www.eurosport.com/snooker).
